# Glossary

## AI search

AI search is search powered by large language models that returns a synthesized answer with citations (ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Google AI Mode) rather than a ranked list of links. It is the surface GEO and AEO optimize for.

## How Getspotted helps

Getspotted is the AI citation API for ai search: it finds the sources AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) and Google cite for any query, per country, and the contacts behind them. Start with the [docs](/content/docs/index.html) or connect the [MCP server](/content/mcp/index.html).
